Bangla film helpHi Everyone,
I am new on here and it looks like a pretty cool place!
I'm just wondering where I can buy the old classic bangla movies from. Proper classics from the 1965-1972 era. Things like Devdas, Pather Panchali and stuff starring Uttam kumar and Suchitra Sen.
My dad is forever going on about how much better and more artistic the bangla cinema industry used to compared to bollywood pre the 1980s. I would love to surprise him by getting him a load of these dvds he can watch and reminisce about the good old days...problem is I don't have a clue where to start looking. If ppl on here can direct to some decent mail order wevbsites i can purchase these classic bangla films from I would be delighted.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

i think bangla movies are gay almost as gay as hindi movies.

The only gay film I've seen lately has come out of hollywood - brokeback mountain!
Some of the old bangla stuff is really good mate, really political and genuinely cutting edge for that era. I agree that a lot of the stuff today is just made for a big audience, i.e wishy washy run of the mill romance stuff.....not so interesting. But you do get the odd film in that type of genre that breaks the mould.....
As for the gay thing, I wish they'd make a gay story in hindi, might liven it up a bit lol

You could buy those movies from bdbazar.com/. They have a good stock of oldies and they are not to cheap. They ship to US/Canada n worldwide as wll.
