The Bangladesh Football Federation is all set to welcome world football star Zinedine Zidane. The French World Cup star will arrive in Dhaka at 10:30pm tonight and will visit the BFF Building on Tuesday.
Zidane who won football’s coveted trophy on home soil in 1998, will meet the press at BFF’s Motijheel headquarters at 3:30pm and later will go to the Bangabandhu National Stadium to watch an under-16 exhibition match between arch-rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani at 4:30pm. He is expected to play for both teams for a short time.
However, witnessing one of the greatest stars of the world, will not be free of cost. Gallery tickets will be available for Taka 40 while VIP tickets will cost Tk 300, 200 and 100 respectively. The tickets will be available in the stadium ticket counters.
Admine, a local event management company, has bought the rights of ticket sales paying Tk. seven lakh and satellite channel ntv will telecast the programme live from the BNS. They have paid federation Tk two lakh for the arrangement.
Zidane will also bring along a 27-member security team while the Dhaka Metropolitan Police will provide local support.
The midfield magician and three-time world footballer of the year will also inaugurate the Bogra factory of Grameen Danone Foods Limited, a social business enterprise of the local giants and French-based Danone Foods Limited.
Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Yunus, the pioneer of micro-credit, initiated the project and invited Zidane to come to Bangladesh. The former Juventus and Real Madrid star will be accompanied by Frank Riboud, the chairman of Danone Foods Limited.
